(Tallassee, AL) – PrimeSouth Bank employees were issued a challenge in November, 2013, by their chief executive officer Dave Baggett to “make an impact” in the communities they serve. The only rules of the company-wide contest were to work as a team and use the $250 seed money given to each team by the bank as a start to make a difference for community organizations of their choice in Tallapoosa, Elmore and/or Montgomery Counties.
The four teams chose varying organizations to serve during the two month contest, but the outcome for each was the same – they each saw a difference being made in the community by their service work.
One of the teams worked with the Elmore County Food Pantry in several different ways. They volunteered time at the pantry and also collected food and monetary donations. Their efforts resulted in raising an amount that would be enough food to feed 168 families.
“Many, many thanks to PrimeSouth Bank for collecting donations that furnished approximately 13,500 pounds of food,” said Board Pantry Board President Larry Dozier. “Thank you, PrimeSouth Bank for helping the Elmore County Food Pantry continue changing peoples lives.”
The remaining teams made a difference in the community through other worthwhile efforts such as hosting a program to honor local veterans, aiding local needy families and shelters and raising funds for abused children.
In all, PrimeSouth Bank employees gave nearly 60 hours of time, touched 750 lives in the community and gave a total of $5,600 to the organizations they served.
“I could not be more pleased with the efforts given by our employees during what started out to be a company contest. The impact not only touched lives in our community, but was felt by our employees as well,” Baggett said. “We are going to continue our efforts and build off this project going forward. I can’t wait to see what our employees do next.”

(Tallassee, AL) – PrimeSouth Bank, headquartered in Tallassee, has given new meaning to supporting the community during this holiday season.
In November, PrimeSouth CEO Dave Baggett issued a challenge to his staff to “make an impact” in the communities they serve. The challenge came in the form of a contest where bank employees were divided into four teams and given $250 per team to use in an effort of their choosing in the community. The rules of the contest were left intentionally vague, so the employees could determine themselves what would make the largest impact before the end of January, 2014.
One of the teams hit the ground running and has been collecting food items and monetary donations for the Elmore County Food Pantry. Their collection efforts end on January 28. In addition to collecting food, this team also spent time volunteering at the Food Pantry and seeing first hand the needs of the community.
“The Elmore County Food Pantry fills a definite void in our community. For every $1.00 given, six pounds of food can be served. With the community’s help, we are making a difference,” said President Jimmy Monk.
If you would like to assist PrimeSouth Bank with its Food Pantry donation, please drop off food items or monetary gifts (checks payable to Elmore County Food Pantry) to any PrimeSouth Bank location prior to January 28. A list of the locations can be found at www.primesouthbank.com/contact.
“We are thrilled at the enthusiasm and ingenuity of our team with their projects and can’t wait to see the results of all of the teams later in January. We are proud to live and work in the communities we serve,” Baggett said.

(Wetumpka, AL) – PrimeSouth Bank’s Wetumpka office employees took time away from being bankers to become bell ringers during the recent holiday season.
The team, led by Bank President Jimmy Monk spent several shifts working with the Salvation Army in the red kettle drive at the Wetumpka Walmart.
“Although we do not know exactly how much money we raised during our time working with the Salvation Army’s kettle drive, we know that every donation no matter how large or small, will go to improving the lives of people in our community, and that’s what is most important,” said Monk.
“We all need to be invested in our communities,” said PrimeSouth Bank’s CEO Dave Baggett. “The work that is done by the Salvation Army is invaluable and we are proud to be even a small part.”
PrimeSouth Bank, headquartered in Tallassee, opened a new office in Pike Road on September 19, 2013. The office will offer traditional banking services and is located at 225 Emma Lane, off Chantilly Parkway, in Pike Road.

The bank opened on September 2, 1958 as The Peoples Bank of Carrville in Carrville/East Tallassee. The name was shortened to The Peoples Bank in 1985 and changed to PrimeSouth Bank in 2004.

In addition to two full service branches in Tallassee, the bank also has a location in Wetumpka and plans to open its fourth location in Pike Road in September.
PrimeSouth Bank, headquartered in Tallassee, recently marked the beginning of construction on the bank’s new Pike Road location with a Ground Breaking Ceremony. The ceremony, led by the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, took place on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 off Chantilly Parkway at the future site of the new banking center. The location is scheduled to open summer 2013.
“This is a very special day for the entire PrimeSouth Bank family,” said the bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Dave Baggett, who was on hand for the ground breaking. “We are excited to see the new Pike Road office get underway and look forward to future opportunities in this area.”
